We are currently offering two internship programs designed to help emerging leaders gain hands-on experience while contributing to our mission of supporting the South Asian business community in Virginia.

Eligibility & Criteria

The South Asian Business Council of Virginia (SABCVA) offers unpaid, onsite internships designed to provide meaningful, career-focused experience for students preparing to enter the workforce.

Internship Structure

Duration: 8 weeks

Schedule: Onsite, 2 days per week

Season: Summer

Mentorship: Direct guidance from industry professionals

Work: Hands-on projects that strengthen resumes and help students secure advanced internships and jobs

Who Is Eligible?

To maintain a high-quality learning environment, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • General Eligibility (for all internships)
  • Must be a current 2nd-year college student (sophomore)
  • Must be on track to graduate within the next 2 years
  • OR currently enrolled in a Master’s program
  • Must show interest in business, leadership, community initiatives, technology, public policy, media, or related fields
  • Must attend onsite sessions in Virginia two days per week
  • Must commit to the full 8-week program
  • This is an unpaid internship
  • Additional Requirements for AI & Cybersecurity Internships

Applicants for AI or Cybersecurity tracks must also meet the following technical criteria:

Must have hands-on experience in one or more of the following:

  • Programming (Python, Java, C++, or similar)
  • Computer engineering fundamentals
  • Software development coursework or projects
  • Must be able to work on technical, project-based assignments
  • Strong interest in AI, cybersecurity, data science, or emerging technologies is preferred
  • Prior hackathon, coding project, or lab experience is a plus
